In the midst of all the negativity constructed and advertised about the "Dark" continent of Africa, a few Africans and Africa-lovers from American University decided to share their story through another lens: the positive side of the continent. How do they define the continent that has birthed them and watched them grow? What are some of the positive realities they experience that never make it to the media scene or in development circles? What does the Africa they know look like?
Prepare your mind to see the continent in a way you never thought of before-an Africa full of diversity, where positivity and negativity make for a more balanced reality. With a mix of formal and casual interviews and footage, this documentary wants to present a more colorful Africa to a diverse audience.
The screening event will give a glimpse into African culture through a Q/A discussion, music and dance performances, African clothing lines showcase, and African food. 25% of total ticket sales will be donated to an African Fellowship Initiative.
